Calliope Central Bowls Club

Calliope Central Bowls Club has recently invested in a major facility upgrade. Decrolux was involved in the supply of lighting, using an Uplight technique, to reduce glare, and provide a uniform, unobtrusive light spread.

Calliope Central Bowls Club was formed in 1994 and as with most clubs starting out relied on the volunteer support and the old “chook raffles” to get it up and running. This has turned into a modern lawn bowls facility today with a state of the art artificial green and a full retractable shade cover over the playing surface.

Lawns Bowls is played both competitively and socially with the men’s competition held on Sunday’s; the ladies competition on Tuesdays and a mixed social competition on one Saturday every month (see “Playing Days for further information). Men and women are encouraged to play on each other’s day with the exception of championship days. Social members are also welcome to play on these days but need to check with the club prior to any game to ensure there is no official competition being played on the day.
