LED Upgrade
The Domain Tennis Centre in Hobart offers Tasmania's premium tennis experience, boasting 18 courts as well as function and meeting rooms, surrounded by incredible mountain, city and water views. The club welcomes players of all ages and experience with casual one-off hits, coaching and weekly competitions. Open seven days a week, the courts are often used in the evenings which called for an upgrade of the original metal halide fittings.
Using the premium Vertex MK-II Series, an average of 400 lux is achieved for night and competition games, providing superior uniform brightness. Typically we follow the pole layouts recommended in AS2560, but retrofits offer unique challenges. A precise lighting design using asymmetric optics effectively controls the light and pays careful attention to the nearby residences. The design passed all obtrusive lighting calculations. The Domain Tennis Centre with 18 courts, embarked on the major project of upgrading all courts to LED lighting. The overall project has been done in stages. The Club, its members and the community are thrilled with the result. Decrolux has been great to work with. The challenge of different pole locations on courts and different lighting level requirements was worked though closely with Jared and the Decrolux team to find the right solution for each court. The LED lighting is crisp and a joy to play under, enhancing the tennis experience. The light fittings also look great!
